Speech by President of Singapore Polo Club & Title Sponsor, BMW
For the very first time in Singapore, the competitive polo club game is being played on the beach. The Inaugural BMW Singapore Beach Polo Championship 2016’s venue will be at Tanjong Beach, just right behind Tanjong Beach Club.
Organised by the Singapore Polo Club, this inaugural event is sponsored by BMW Group Asia and is supported by Singapore Tourism Board.
The game is mostly played in a grass field of 275mm x 180m. The game of polo has been taken to another level at the Tanjong Beach where the size of the playing field is only 70m x 40m. This is also an eye-opener for those who have never caught beach polo live in action, as the game is much trickier on sand compared to the greens.
