On 5 May 2016 at 18.00 hrs, the official opening ceremony of the 14th Thai Festival in Singapore was presided by H.E. Mr. Thongchai Chasawath, Ambassador of Thailand to Singapore, and graced by the Guest-of-Honour, Mr. Peter Tan, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Singapore.
Ambassador Thongchai Chasawath welcomed all guests by describing the main theme of this year’s event is 4Fs including Food, Fruits, Fun, Fashion. He reaffirmed that in the event, the participants experienced a variety of Thai food, fresh Thai fruits and creative Thai fashion products and also enjoyed endless fun with Thai cultural performances and Lucky Draw with many prizes. Furthermore, Deputy Secretary Peter Tan addressed that there should be 2 more Fs for Thailand, which is Friendship and Fantastic. As a result, Thailand has always been a destination among the Singaporean.

The Thai Festival 2016 was the 14th Thai Festival in Singapore and are participated by 75 exhibitors from Thailand with a variety of products, including ready-made food, Thai desserts and snacks, curry paste, fresh and dried Thai fruits, rice, spa products, textile and garment, jewelry and leather wear.
It was also joined by Thai restaurants, and Thai cultural and “Muay Thai” performances by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Singapore), as well as impressive performances by the Bangkok Mini Groovy Band, with a mixture of Thai flute and Western musical instruments. A variety of activities was also held during the Thai Festival 2016, including Thai cooking demonstration of 4 parts’ traditional food, free photo souvenir printing for Instagram photos with hashtag #ThaiFestSG, which was overwhelmed with over 2,000 participants. Customers who purchased over S$20 will stand a chance to win a pair of THAI Airways tickets to Bangkok and many Lucky Draw prizes!!
