Once again, the 4th Epicurean Market was a huge success this year. Everybody was well fed and entertained by all the celebrity chefs. Congratulations to Marina Bay Sands and the team!!
As I mentioned, all of you will get the chance to get close up with all the chefs in Marina Bay Sands. So here I have conducted a short conversation with 4 of the chefs during Epicurean Market. Probably we can continue with the rest next year as I intend to keep this posting short with some videos.
The 2 Questions:
- What do you love to do besides cooking?
- Given a chance besides being a Chef, is there anything else you will like to pursuit?
Tetsuya Wakuda, Waku Ghin:
I love fishing. Mountain walking is another sport which I love to do even though I am not a sporty person as you can see. I had a fantastic trip to California earlier this year. I am looking forward to my next trip. Tasmania is one of the countries which I look forward to travel someday – 5 Days, Cradle Mountain Walk.
I never thought of anything else all my life. Cooking is what I do and I like it. I want to be a chef even if I reborn. The culinary world is a wonderful industry. It may be tough but at the same time it is sweet – the relationships where you get to meet all sorts of people every day and you get to cook anywhere in the world.
Christopher Christie, Marina Bay Sands:
A lot of things, I live life, love riding bicycle and exercise. I have written 2 books with 1 published titled ‘Christopher Christie – The Broken Path’ and another under consideration.
I am happy being a chef and I like what I do because I love to work with people. As long as I continue to work with people – that’s really what makes me really happy.
David Meyer, Adrift:
I love to surf. Surfing is my daily morning ritual. That’s my number 1!
I will love to try out being an actor in different films. I love drama and that will be a lot of fun playing different roles and characters.
Daniel Boulud, DB Bistro & Oysters Bar:
I play golf, I hunt and I drive. Some of the places which I love to drive around are California, Florida, America and I love France.
Cooking has been my life. I always try to cook for everyone and involve them when I am on vacation. I always keep my cellars with full of good wine. I love my job. It was good to me and I am good to it. And I think it’s important.
