Launched since early June this year, now everybody can enjoy your favourite Andong Jjimdak with cheese!
By now most of us should know that Andong Jjimdak originates from the city of Andong in Korea. Do you also know that it gained its popularity since the late 1990’s for its spicy version too?
This Korean chicken dish has been braised over high heat in a sweet and savory sauce together with red dried chilies. The only thing which we are not sure about is if Cheongyang gochu is added in Andong Zzimdak‘s version.
The New Cheesy Dishes by Andong Zzimdak
Serving us first is the Byol Byol Cheese Jjimdak where the mozzarella cheese were torched till oozing melting char brown on the surface. The dark sauce taste savory sweet but it is not spicy at all. However the flavour is indeed way better than their original jjimdak the first time we tried. One of the best item to go for is the potato which has absorbed all the fragrant of the chicken and the dark sweet sauce. The carrots and zucchini were well braised too!
Now finally we got something that create some attention on our palate! We suggested that the Mayak Jjimdak should be served with cheese too as it is way kicking us further for it savory sweet spiciness. This is definitely one to go for especially during the cold rainy days! #NomNomNom Beware that this can be really addictive!!
Have you ever tried steaming egg with cheese? Out hot steaming and it look so ‘fluffy dense‘… This is a must to eat item too!! No ultra cheesy taste while both ingredients blends really well. Am wondering if there is any additional chicken stock added in this juicy soupy Cheese Steam Egg. #WarmHearted
On the other hand, the Korean Seafood Cheese Pancake is crispy on the exterior rather than cheesy. More cheese please!! While the Spicy Cheese Doboki is more chewy on the rice cake – We think it requires more sauce and perhaps they can increase the spicy level too.
Seafood Kimchi Soup with squids, 2 tiger prawns and mussels is another new item for you to try out.
It is good for have at least 3 to 4 pax when you visit Andong Zzimdak so that you can really enjoy a variety of Korean dishes instead of having just one big plate of Andong Jjimdak with rice unless you have a big appetite. What are you waiting for?? Head down now!
