All have been long waiting and finally the official date has been announced earlier this morning. The prestigious awards ceremony will be held at Resorts World Sentosa where awardees will be presented with the stars for the year 2016 in the presence of Michael ELLIS, International Director of the MICHELIN guides. Robert Parker Wine Advocate (RPWA) will be hosting the world’s first MICHELIN guideAward Ceremony cum Gala Dinner.
When preparing the selection, Michelin inspectors reviewed all types of cuisines and considered only the quality of the food. All establishments are selected according to the same five criteria used byMichelininspectors aroundthe world: quality of the ingredients used, mastery of cooking techniques and flavors, projection of the chef’s personality in his cuisine, value for money and consistency, both over time and across the entire menu. Other factors, such asplace,décor, serviceandfacilities offered, are not considered.
In collaboration with Robert Parker Wine Advocate and Singapore Tourism Board, the MICHELIN guide Singapore 2016 has launched a comprehensive English-language gourmet lifestyle web port [Video].
The evening will see the attendance of elite culinarians as Michelin celebrates the launch of its first MICHELIN guide Singapore. Open to the public for the first time, the glittery event will allow food connoisseurs and gastronomes to get up close and personal with chefs from newly crowned Michelin-starred restaurants in Singapore, and share the first moments of joy with them.
A charity auction conducted by Christie’s will also be held during the gala dinner. Guests will get to savour an extraordinary dinner prepared by Joël Robuchon and a couple of promising local chefs who are award-winners and have represented Singapore on the international stage. They will be preparing different courses collaboratively. Complementing the dinner are 12 specially selected wines from Family of Twelve, a fraternity of wineries
from New Zealand.
