If you’ve ever been to Las Vegas then you know the trend of “BIG Is Better” in the dining scene. This theme runs true throughout the menu at 嗨货 Hi! Joyful. It’s a franchise seafood restaurant that hails all the way from China in Qingdao where the locals definitely know how to enjoy a scrumptious seafood hotpot feast, so you know you’re in good hands.

嗨货 Hi! Joyful is the first of its kind ‘seafood concept experience’ in Singapore owned by William Sun who has been living in Singapore for the past 16 years. William has numerous experiences in the F&B and service industry where he was previously the General Manager of Seletar Country Club. He is also the owner of 2 other Chinese style BBQ eateries in Chinatown.
The name of 嗨货 Hi! Joyful came about through the definitions of ‘海货, (seafood) for its first impression of selling the freshest seafood, 吃货 which means big eater and the feeling of getting high (嗨). You will definitely know why upon finishing your first seafood feast here.
The menu at 嗨货Hi! Joyful is based on the concept of the different stages you go through in a relationship. First, there is the “Encounter” with appetizers, side dishes, and vegetables to peak your interest. Take note that side dishes come with the hotpot combos in the “Climax” section so you probably don’t need to order these.
The main courses are grouped under “Passionate Love” where you have the key seafood items like crabs, lobster, prawns, and many other types of marine delicacies cooked in the style of your liking. You will want to bring as many people as you can because portions can be obscenely big so you need to have a big group if you want to try more of these dishes.
4 types of Base to choose from: Steam, Mala, Sour & Spicy and Lightly Spicy
Scallop with Fragrant Spicy Garlic, Spring Onions & Tung Hoon
The next section called “Climax” includes combo hotpot platters that can feed up to 7 adults at very reasonable prices. This is what everyone comes here for and you may only need to order of one these hotpots for your entire meal. You can expect to be fully satisfied from just the hotpot combo spending about 60 SGD per person (with tax and service charge) if your group has 6 or more people. Make sure you choose a soup base that suits everyone at the table, as there are different levels of spiciness.
This looks like Chongqing’s laziji 辣子鸡.
But it is actually a Super Huge Bullfrog Combo where they use a total of 9 Whole Bullfrogs!!
Give Us Some Beer Anybody??
Rice and noodle dishes fall under the “Lingering” section, but we doubt you’ll be able to stuff any more food into you by this stage. The idea of serving such large dishes is to keep diners coming back for more because you literally cannot try everything in one meal.
Homemade Milk Tea Served in Baby Milk Bottle Available For You to Take Home
The drinks section of the menu is seductively called “Moisturizing with Love Series”. As sexy as that sounds, the tasty drinks are actually quite innocently served in baby bottles (Homemade Milk Tea) and plastic light bulbs (Freshly Squeezed Fruit Juices). You’ll be tempted to take selfies for your Instagram because they’re just so cute.
There’s also a karaoke bar upstairs if you’re in for a rowdy night. William not only takes pride in serving the freshest seafood while adjusted the flavours to suit our Singaporean local taste buds as well as very reasonable pricing, he also places emphasis on the ambience where all customers get to enjoy to the fullest at 嗨货 Hi! Joyful with music and chit chat. This is definitely a must go place for those who love to sing and enjoy karaoke (KTV). He also shared that the servers will dance for all customers in Qingdao’s outlet and on top of that due to no space constraints, there is a ‘disco’ in the center where all customers can hype up with cool dancers with shades and live band music.
Lobster Combo: 99 Baby Lobsters Served in 3 Flavours and 1 Australian Lobster
Overall, in here you will get out with the ‘shiok’ experience. 嗨货 Hi! Joyful are also open to all feedbacks and suggestions from all customers, should you have any.
